Prefab Garage, Brick Garage or Metal Garage

Prefab Garage or traditional bricks and mortar?

Your car is often the pride and joy of your life. Except for your house, it will almost certainly be the most expensive single thing you have purchased.

So why would you be happy leaving your very expensive car out on the road or even in your drive where rain, hail, snow and grit laden winds can rapidly reduce your beautiful shiny vehicle to a shadow of it’s former self? – and that’s not even mentioning vandals and thieves who, in a few seconds, can relieve you of you vehicle and increase your insurance premiums!
Of course you wouldn’t. Every car owner needs a place of safety, a fortress of solitude, a protector for that cherished possession,  also know as a garage.

Every car owner will have their own specific requirements for their garage. It may need accommodate more than one vehicles for instance. Garages are not only used to protect your car. It may also be  used for the storage of tools or even as a small workshop. Of course there is also the cost.

As well as the traditional brick garage, there is the prefab garage made of prefabricated reinforced concrete. These are premade in a factory, in manageable sections that can be easily assembled once delivered to the required location.

A prefab garage can be manufactured as a single garage or double or even more. In fact almost any requirement you have can usually be catered for. This means that a prefab garage can be a practical reality to fill your particular needs from a car port to full blown garage.

The advantage of a prefab garage:
They are up to 50 percent cheaper than their brick counterparts.
In particular, they require only a short construction time and often comes with a long warranty.
Those who are on a really tight budget can buy a  prefab garage as a DIY kit and errect the final structure yourself.

Metal premade garages should also be considered. These come as a prefabricated kit and,  again, the assemble is easily within the ability of most people.
Metal prefab garages often have, unfairly,  a bad rep but modern units can be of excellent quality and longevity. A prefab or premade metal garage can have some advantages. For example, it offers better air circulation and helps dry your vehicle when parking it after driving in the rain. In particular, it requires little space for storage or transportation and so suppliers can keep plenty of stock and offer fast delivery.
If you are tempted by this low cost option then you should also consider the downsides.. A metal prefab garage offers little protection against tempura change and the lifespan will be considerably shorter than a traditional brick built garage

With all these garages you can make your selection an individual one. Electric doors, windows, coloured or finished exterior, size and shape. This means you needed have to keep up with Jones but can stamp your own individuality on your neighbourhood.

Whatever any car owner ultimately decides, it is important to protect your vehicle, whether from the weather or the criminals. A garage will ensure you get more from your vehicle. More durability, more reliabilty, cheaper car insurance and a better resale value.

So the choice is yours – prefab garage or traditional built garage. Just make sure you do get a garage!
But for me its premade garges all the way!
